Robert H. Starnes Jr., age 77, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. A native of Union County, NC, Robert is the son of the late Robert Sr. and Beulah (Richardson) Starnes. He spent most of his life in the textile and tool manufacturing industry, serving both local and global communities. Robert was a hard worker, never met a stranger, had a huge heart, and loved making people smile. You could often find Robert antique shopping with his wife, and they opened an antique shop together in 1993, called The Pack Rat Antiques, which is still in Downtown Monroe. Robert even managed a diner in Monroe called Robert’s Restaurant a few years in the early 70s. He loved many people throughout his life and he will be greatly missed.
Robert H. Starnes leaves behind to cherish his memory: Wife, Carolyn (Ross) Starnes, of Monroe, NC; Daughter, Christie Starnes, of Indian Trail, NC.
The photo of Robert is at Judd’s Restaurant in Monroe, NC. Everyone that knew Robert also knew eating was one of his most favorite things to do, especially breakfast. Judd’s is also the place where he met his loving wife of 55 years.
