Pattie Lee Harris, 95, of Monroe, NC, moved to her heavenly home on July 30, 2020 surrounded by loving family. Pattie was born February 22, 1925, a daughter to the late Ben & Ola Mae Massey of Wesley Chapel, NC.
During these times of limiting the numbers for social gatherings, the Family respects your concerns of avoiding crowds, so they welcome you to stop by Gordon Funeral Service Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. to pay your respects.
A private celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020. Rev. Eric Nixon and Rev. Gary Underwood will officiate the ceremony. A private burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.
Pattie was married to R.D. Price and together they had 3 children. She was widowed 15-1/2 years later and became a single parent to her children until she met Robert E. Harris (Bob) in 1967. The two were married on 12/29/1968 in Monroe. Bob brought 5 children with him and they became a family of 10. Together they had 8 children: Larry F. Price (Sandra), Arnold D. Price (Paulette), Diane P. Richardson (Butch), Cynthia H. Stegall (Jim), Deborah H. Rivers, Thomas G. Harris (Kathy), Pamela H. Wofford (Bill) & Daphne H. Hall (Stephen).
Pattie worked at Scott Aviation and as a teacher for Brookgreen Nursery. After working with Brookgreen Nursery, she retired to the most important job of her career, providing a loving and caring home for her husband and children.
She was an active member of West Monroe Baptist Church and their JOY Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Bob, where they went on numerous Christian Bus Tours. She loved canning the harvests from the garden that she and Bob worked together. She loved working in her flower beds, feeding the hummingbirds and spending time with her family especially during the Christmas holidays.
Pattie is survived by her 8 children, 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren & her sister Margaret M. Helms.
She was preceded in death by her first husband-R.D. Price; her second husband-Robert E. Harris (Bob); her granddaughter-Ashley E. Richardson; her great-great-grandson-Cameron Sigmon; her brothers- William Massey & J.C. Massey & her sisters-Clara Bell Gordon & Dorothy M. Galloway.
