MONROE — The Monroe Police Department’s Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) arrested 20-year-old Brian Hernandez-Lopez of Monroe on June 2, 2021. According to a social media post by the department, Hernandez-Lopez had been evading law enforcement for several months regarding charges that included a felony probation violation, multiple felony breaking and entering of motor vehicles, larceny, assault with a deadly weapon and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
According to the post, because of Hernandez-Lopez’s gang affiliation, VCTF picked up the case and began working leads into his location. Citing the use of trade craft investigative techniques, VCTF apprehended Hernandez-Lopez as he was leaving a residence off of Sunset Drive in Monroe.
Hernandez-Lopez was listed as of Friday afternoon as being held in the Union County Jail under a secured bond of $255,000.
