Union County — There have been 2,251 cumulative cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout the county, as of Tuesday (July 21), according to N.C. Department of Health and Human Services Dashboard. Cumulative cases indicate both those who have tested positive and those who have come out of an isolation period.
There were 36 new cases confirmed in Union County on Tuesday.
There have been 32 virus-related deaths confirmed in the County as of Tuesday, according to NC DHHS.
As of July 15, 1,203 people in the County who tested positive for the coronavirus are no longer being monitored.
For context, the United States Census Bureau estimates there are 239,859 people living in Union County as of July 1, 2019.
Across the state, there have been 102,950 confirmed cases and nearly 1,694 virus-related deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University and Medicine’s Dashboard.
