MONROE — Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) deputies and investigators responded to a 911 call regarding a stabbing incident on Wednesday (Oct. 13), according to a release by the Sheriff’s Office; Tyler Rashaun Mullis was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.

UCSO reported the incident occurred at a residence in the 3200 block range of Joe Griffin Road, where deputies learned the stabbing occurred during a disturbance between family members who live near one another.

According to the release, deputies arrived at the home where the incident occurred and identified Mullis as the offender in the stabbing. He was booked at the Union County Detention Center.

UCSO reported the victim received medical care for his injuries and was expected to survive.
