MONROE — As of Wednesday (Oct. 13), the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) reports 124,336 residents in Union County have been at least partially vaccinated under all programs. In the county, 117,675 or 49% are now fully vaccinated compared to 54% statewide.

According to NC DHHS data updated on Wednesday the total of cumulative cases of COVID-19 in the county is at 35,502, a 145 case increase since Monday. Cumulative figures account for all reported cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Cumulative cases indicate both those who have tested positive and those who have come out of an isolation period.

The number of active cases in the county remained at 1,361 on Wednesday, according to the Union County Government COVID-19 Dashboard.

The Union County Government COVID-19 online dashboard reports 70 current hospitalizations. The county positivity rate remained at 10.4% on Wednesday, according to the county dashboard. There have been 320 cumulative deaths in the county.

Across the state, there have been a total of 1,439,938 COVID-19 cases per NC DHHS, and 17,330 virus related deaths.
