MONROE — As of Monday (Oct. 11), the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) reports 124,100 residents in Union County have been at least partially vaccinated under all programs. In the county, 117,326 or 49% are now fully vaccinated compared to 54% statewide.

According to NC DHHS data updated on Monday, the total of cumulative cases of COVID-19 in the county is at 35,357, a 194 case increase since Friday. Cumulative figures account for all reported cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Cumulative cases indicate both those who have tested positive and those who have come out of an isolation period.

The number of active cases in the county is at 1,361, according to the Union County Government COVID-19 Dashboard, representing a decrease of 274 active cases since its Friday update.

The Union County Government COVID-19 online dashboard reports 70 current hospitalizations. The county positivity rate was at 10.4% on Monday, according to the county dashboard. There have been 318 cumulative deaths in the county, an increase of seven since Friday’s update.

Across the state, there have been a total of 1,434,551 COVID-19 cases per NC DHHS, and 17,207 virus related deaths.
