RALEIGH — The North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examiners announced approving 96 people for CPA licensure on April 19.

The list of individuals approved for licensure included three area residents; Sean Alan Grim of Waxhaw, Hendra McGettigan and John Edward Sawickis, both of Matthews.

The were among 22,362 North Carolina CPA’s with current licenses, according to a release by the State Board.

According to the release, applicants for licensure are required to pass the Uniform CPA Examination and satisfy the State’s education, work experience and moral character requirements. To maintain their license, CPA’s in North Carolina are required to annually renew their license and complete at least 2,000 minutes of continuing professional education each year.
