Tommy's turkey

Tommy’s turkey

Tommy Shaw, 12, son of Bill and Wendy Shaw of Weddington, used the COVID-19 quarantine to spend some time turkey hunting in April for the first time. While in Franklin, NC, visiting his grandparents, Arnold and Linda Shaw, Tommy fulfilled a dream of killing a trophy turkey. The turkey weighed 22 pounds and had an 11-inch beard and 1-inch spurs. Tommy has been hunting with his dad since he was 5. He has already killed deer, including a 7-point and called in his first coyote for a kill in May. Tommy is the grandson of Linda Manus of Weddington.
