MONROE — The Porter Ridge High football team had the willpower to bounce back from their past two home losses versus Hickory Ridge and Cardinal Gibbons, and they prevailed over previously undefeated Monroe, 24-20, Friday night on the road.

The win gives the Pirates (3-2) its fourth straight victory over the RedHawks (5-1) and their first since 2012 when the Pirates won 35-13 in the season-opening game. Monroe averaged 49.6 points per game before Friday’s loss.
