MONROE — Union County native and Cuthbertson High School graduate, Rachael Holzman, has been hired as the New Projects Manager and Marketing Coordinator.
Holzman holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture Business Management as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems. Both degrees are from North Carolina State University.
During the summer of 2020, she interned with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service, Union County Center. She has worked as an assistant local foods coordinator for the county. She was a local administrator for the county’s Visit NC Farms app profile in addition to facilitating other local food system projects, according to Monroe-Union County Economic Development.
Eager to begin working for Monroe-Union County Economic Development, Holzman said in a press release that as a native of the area, it is important to her to “continue to strengthen our community and support the needs of our residents.”
Executive Director Chris Platé said Holzman’s experience with social media and skills she earned in school will bolster marketing efforts in addition to being an asset in gaining more projects centered around Agri-business.
