Junior Saniya Gingham pulled down 23 rebounds and scored 16 points on Friday and junior Saniya Wallace had 21 points and seven steals, helping Monroe High’s girls win their seventh straight game with a 65-46 home win over West Stanly.
Four Redhawks reached double-digit scoring, including freshman Summer Jones (16 points) and senior Dynastee Parker (12), and junior Jada Lawrence pulled down 12 rebounds.
Monroe is now 11-6 overall. The Redhawks are 5-1 in the Rocky River Conference, and stand second behind Parkwood.
A 5-foot-11 forward, Gingham had a career-high 25 rebounds in a win over Sun Valley on Jan. 7. Over the past four games, she’s averaging 20.4 rebounds per game. Monroe’s last loss was on Jan. 1 at Parkwood (51-36). Monroe plays at Parkwood on Friday, Jan. 27.
Parkwood 67, CATA 33Parkwood maintained sole possession of first place in the RRC with Friday’s 67-33 home win over Central Academy. The Wolfpack improved to 16-4 overall and 6-0 in the RRC with their sixth straight victory.
Senior Jade Washington had 17 points, eight rebounds, three steals and three assists for Parkwood, and teammates Nicole Fossati and Peyton Collins scored 13 points each.
Forest Hills 44, Anson 33
The Yellow Jackets, who started the season 0-9 overall, improved to 3-3 in conference play with an 11-point home win against Anson.

Sun Valley 49, WHS 44Sophomore Bailey Page had 18 points, six rebounds and four steals to help Sun Valley defeat Weddington on the road Friday. Page, a 5-8 guard, also had six rebounds and four steals.
Teammate Isabella Sarcona, a senior captain, was 2-for-5 from 3-point range and finished with 11 points and four rebounds.
