MONROE — As of Wednesday (Nov. 3), the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) reports 126,825 residents in Union County have been partially vaccinated under all programs. The County’s had 120,933 residents fully vaccinated.
According to NC DHHS data, as of Nov. 1, the total of cumulative cases of COVID-19 in the County is at 36,562 and the number of active cases is 728.
The Union County Government COVID-19 online dashboard reports 30 current hospitalizations. The county positivity rate was 6.3% on Wednesday. There have been 344 cumulative deaths in the County since the first COVID death in the County was reported on April 9, 2020. The state’s positivity rate, reported by NC DHHS on Wednesday, was 4.5%.
According to the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health, any positivity rate above 5% is classified as “too high” and indicates that “more testing should probably be done.”
Across the state, there have been a total of 1,485,455 COVID-19 cases per NC DHHS, and 18,148 virus related deaths.
