MONROE -- A man was shot five times and was in critical condition Saturday evening.

At about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Reginald Richardson, 25, kicked in the door at 2001 Horton Lane in Monroe, where Lisa Thunderburke lives. Once he entered the house, he was shot by another man who was in the house, according to police.

Richardson was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Police were questioning a suspect Saturday evening but the district attorney’s office had not decided to press charges by press deadline Saturday. Police were withholding any suspect’s until charges are filed.
