Child porn displayed on fliers
Staff Writer
MONROE
Police and the SBI are investigating over a dozen fliers containing child pornography that were sent to downtown businesses over the weekend.
Carrying the name and address of Monroe-based Key Printing & Graphics, the fliers advertised “Valentine’s Day Specials — Full Cover Canvas Prints” with male and female child pornography included throughout.
The police station, The Enquirer-Journal and downtown restaurants were among those who received the letter.
“Everyone who knows me knows we ain’t done this,” Key Printing and Graphics owner James Robinette said.
Police Chief Debra Duncan also said the return address is “bogus” and that the letters were postmarked in Charlotte.
Police instructed area businesses to not open the letters if they received one, Blu Moon Cafe employee Tara O’Donoghue said.
“They’re trying to get fingerprints or something,” she said.
The restaurant’s postman will try to intercept the letters before any more get delivered, she added.
Police are following up on several leads, Duncan said.
Robinette said he expects a suspect will be identified within the week.

Any update on this? Have they named any suspects?
